ISO 45001
What is ISO 45001 ?
ISO 45001 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, with guidelines for its use, to support an organization to proactively improve its OHS performance in preventing Occupational Accidents and adverse health impacts.
ISO 45001 does not specify specific criteria for OH&S performance, nor does it specify the design of an OH&S management system within the Organization. An organization’s OH&S management system must be specific to meet its own needs in preventing injury and ill health, therefore, a small business with low risk may only need to implement a relatively simple system, and conversely a large organization with a high level of risk may require something much more complicated. It is very possible that the implementation of SMK3 in different companies will depend on the effectiveness of its implementation by the organization.
